Alanna Newkirk

Alanna Newkirk was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio.  In 2013, she received her Bachelor of Fina Arts magne cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College. During her years at Marymount she performed pieces by faculty members Katie Langan, Nancy Lushington, Jane Vorbuger, Jeff Shade, and Pedro Ruiz. She also performed works by many esteemed guest choreographers such excerpts from Robert Battle’s Channels II, Shen Wei’s Map, Lar Lubovitch’s Legend of Ten and Ray Mercer’s Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.  In 2011 she was a featured dancer in the documentation of Twyla Tharp’s The One Hundreds filmed in the Theresa Lang Theatre. Upon graduation she joined XAOC Contemporary Ballet in 2013. In addition to XAOC, she is also a member of MoveWorks directed by Sarah Foster and Christian Serrano and performed The Contaminent in the Triskelion Comedy in Dance Festival, The Job Amalgamate Artist Series, and for the 2nd year ReArrange on Governors Island.
